Race Night, Murrayfield Bar, Sat 22 March from 7pm

What happens?
There will be 7 main races and one auction race on the night. Each race has 8 horses which can be bought for £5. See a committee member to buy a horse and choose a name for your nag.

Each race is sponsored by a company/person who offer a prize e.g. a record voucher, hamper, jewellery, alcohol, etc. If your horse comes in 1st place you win the sponsor prize – it’s that simple!!! On the night you can also place £1 bets on any horse and win half the prize fund (£20).

This year we are also planning to sell the jockeys for £5 each – a winning jockey wins £20.

The last race is an auction race – individuals or groups can ‘buy’ a horse – highest bid wins. If your horse wins, then winner gets half the money for that race alone (e.g. if £300 collected total, you’d win £150).

On the night there will also be a raffle (great prizes…), a free buffet provided by the Murrayfield Bar (you can buy pub food there too), and not forgetting our fantastic compare Mr Neil Hayes and guests (any volunteers?)

How you can help
We need you to ‘sell’ the horses/jockeys. Even if everyone in the Club could buy one for themselves and one for a friend, then that would help us fantastically!!! Remember, as well as to have fun, this is our main opportunity of raising money for OUR Club- so we need everyone to help!

Please let me know the horses name and who is sponsoring the horse (i.e. paying) or for a jockey just the buyers name! We can collect money at training/nearer the time, but we need the details to make up the coloured brochure in advance. Please give me the details or email me by 29th February (or any Committee member who will forward on to me).

Come on the 22nd with an army of friends! Buy lots of bets and raffle tickets!
